What is a Non-return flue damper?

A check or non-return valve is a valve that allows only one direction of flow. In hydraulics, they are fitted to the flow lines of circulation pumps to allow flow in only one direction and thus prevent backflow.

They are also required to prevent the system from draining in the event of a pump shutdown.

A Non-return flue damper is fitted as standard on all condensing models from 24 to 120 kW for easy connection to pressurised collective flue systems (in compliance with UNI 7129). This is a very effective solution as it reduces the number of flue components to be connected.

In conclusion, although check valves may seem simple, they play a vital role in ensuring proper functioning of plumbing and heating systems. To ensure safety, regulatory compliance and efficiency, it is important to carefully consider their use in projects.
